This is so funny. Sorry I don't know how to get the video here directly, but this is from my local live morning news show. I really love this crew and it was certainly entertaining this morning! Warning, do not watch this in the prescence of Santa believing kids! lol
Gotta love that Mark...he's such a cutie...makes watching the weather forecast worth it-even when the weather is crappy! lol
On another note, I've been messing around with a program I found and came up with this simple pattern for cross-stitch. Nothing fancy, but easy. I don't have a pic of my finish yet, but it would make a cute little pillow tuck or cupboard hanger. If you would like to try it, I would love to see your finish!

We have been enjoying our harvests from the garden we planeted this year. I made Stuffed Green Pepper Soup the other day and it was delicious! I linked the recipe to the words... so check it out! Tonight I am making another squash casserole for dinner. I don't have a recipe for this- it is something that my MIL made for us once when she came for a visit, and we loved it and have planted zucchini and yellow squash in our garden every year since! Basically, I put a thin layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of a casserole, slice squash and zucchini, and layer them with Bisquick and shredded cheese. So it would go like this:sauce, zucchini, cheese, squash, bisquick, sauce, and repeat till you get to the top. I have sausage in the fridge needing used up, so I will be layering that in also today. When the tomatoes are ripe, we like to slice those also and layer those in.
It has been raining all day here so far, and the boys had a friend stay over last night. They were really looking forward to fishing all day so they have been out in the rain fishing all morning. lol Their friend lives in town, so spending a day here is fun for him. I don't think my boys realize how lucky they are to have all this country land to run around on, and a fishing pond in their own backyard! I grew up in the country also, and I too, remember thinking how lucky my friends were that lived in town! lol At this point, I wouldn't trade the country for anything!
My SIL and her husband are coming down from New York this weekend, so I have been busy cleaning the house. She has always been a bit of a 'neat freak' so I always stress out over her visits. I know I shouldn't, but it has been 2 years since she's made it down and I would like my house to look decent. She understands that I have 3 kids (hers are college age now) and it is summer time, so the house is bound to not be in the best condition! lol I have gotten the front porch painted, and we have a few windows that have needed scraped and painted on the outside. Fun fun. I got the huge picture window in my DR done, and if it wasn't raining, I would be painting the others right now! I would much rather be crafting, but I had better get back to cleaning. Hope to have some goodies to offer for my 100th post giveaway coming up soon!
