I painted a 'quilt block'- how cool is that? It was so easy, and I had fun doing it, so I started painting them on a few other things...but this is the only one I will show for now :o) I have a whole slew of ideas for these and I will show you soon!
We had a really nice weekend. We did get a good storm/rain shower on Saturday- just enough to wet the garden (so we didn't have to! lol). Then it cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the day. I got to pick my first two ripe summer (yellow) squash! We will be having them at dinner tonight. I also have picked two HUGE heads of broccoli! I have grown broccoli almost every year we have planted a garden, but I have to say- these are the BIGGEST heads we have ever gotten! They are easily dinner plate sized- and very good too! We have not put a thing on the garden yet this year except for the fertilizer we put in the soil before we planted. We usually use Miracle Grow on it 2 times during the growing season. We may not need it this year. My first cuke should be ready any day now and zucchini are getting ready also. Tomatoes are big and beautiful and GREEN- not even hinting at a shade of red yet...and I've been checking every few days!

Here are a few more of the 'decorations':

Another really cool candle-there are a few that look like this:
Our wine bottle 'garden :o)

That's all for now- I'm dying to show a few more things, but I will restrain myself! I've been blogging for quite awhile now but have taken a few long breaks. So that means, I'm just now coming up on my 100th post! I'm at 95 I think-so I'm thinking....GIVEAWAY!!! I'd better get something figured out and I'm probably going to go with something fall themed. Summer is half over and well, I just LOVE fall! My sisters are all coming home this week and weekend and this will be the first time in a year and a half that all 6 of us will be together! I was planning on going up to New York this weekend to my in-laws to visit, but it's just not working out :( I'm bummed about that, but still excited that we will have a great time here. Oh, back to the giveaway- I was thinking that with all the hoopla going to be going on around here this week, I hope to be at my 100th post by the beginning of next week- so be sure to check back for your chance to enter!

great job on the knife holder! i was wanting to do one. they used to be at the thrift stores all the time, but not anymore. i think the redo thing is catching on. :)
I have a plain knife holder like that that sits on my counter. You gave me a great idea! It's always such an eye sore. :) I love painting quilt blocks. Can't sew, so why not paint them. :)
I have another blog friend that has a son named Gannon. I never heard that before and then I see 2 boys with that name within a couple weeks. :) I'm a big fan of "different" names obviously with my sons' names. :)
