New Header-Picture Perfect Summer Day...

Not much time to post today, as I worked last night and desperately need some sleep! I was tired of the old header I was using....it was a freebie and not very personal. This picture is soooo much better. This is a picture from my mom's childhood. She is the girl in the middle. Doesn't she make you want to squeeze her cheeks? lol Such a cute smile- and her face is identical to the face of my sister, Summer, when she was that age! And I mean identical! (I'll have to look to see if I have one of her to compare to...) The little boy is my Uncle Carl (Uncle Carlie as we all called him growing up :o) and the girl to the right was one of the neighbor girls. I'm know my mom told me who she was, but I can't remember. All I remember is she was the neighbor, and she was rich- as my mom put it. My mom grew up with little, so she remembers the kids that did have things. They were not from a wealthy area (far from it) so I doubt that they were actually wealthy....just 'better off' financially then most in the area. :o) I love this picture...my uncle reminds me of a little cartoon character...a baby Charlie Brown maybe? lol The little girl happily squeezing the poor kitty, the birthday cake (not sure whos birthday?), the old tricycle, the vintage patio chair, the flower garden sandwiched in between the high brick wall and the little white wire fence, the expression on my Uncle's face saying 'Aren't you gonna blow out those candles so I can dive into that cake?' LOL Really, look at this picture...isn't it just the picture of a truly wonderful summer day? The more I look at it, the more I love it and realize just how special it really is! Every detail is just, well, picture perfect! :o) Everything BUT the crappy way it scanned! My sister scanned it from the original at my mom's house, and I messed and messed with it, and couldn't get it scanned in any better than this! The original was nice and crisp- and I looked and looked for tips on how to get a better scan, but I'm at a loss! ANY help or tips from anyone on how to get it better would be greatly appreciated! I have a very special one of my dad when he was a boy that I would like to use later on and I had the same grainy effect with that one. Anyhow, here is to a picture perfect summer day....hope your's is as wonderful!
