Success!…Failure….Offerings

I’ll start with the good news first!  I stopped at the quilt shop yesterday (thanks to Kelley!)  and was in fabric Heaven!  Literally.  I swear my purse clenched itself up when I walked through the door!  I quickly knew I was in trouble.  I noticed that they had baskets and bins all over ,with half yards and quarters already cut and folded, so I decided immediately to just concentrate on the precuts and then get the heck out of there!  lol  I was scared- for my wallet!  Here are a few cuts that I picked…

I was really digging the browns and blues!  The green just caught my eye and I couldn’t put it back :-)

I then went to Joanns and grabbed up the rest of the supplies on my list, including these…

Foam brushes were not on my list, but at 20 for $1.20, I could not pass that up!  I practically emptied the bin by getting 40- wishing there were more!

I then headed around the corner to Michaels, and on the way, remembered there was a GW in the plaza next to it.  Yesterday was half price day, and I’ve never been in that store, so I decided to stop.  Not too much interesting and prices were quite high.  But I did spot this!

It’s a crock drink cooler!  The stripes here look black, but they are that wonderful blue we see on so many crocks!  It is one big mama too!  It measures 10 inches to the rim of the crock and it’s 10 inches wide at the widest part!  They had it marked $23.99 and as much as I loved it, I would have passed it up for that price, but since it was half price day, I didn’t think $12 was too bad :-)  I have a few other crocks with the same colored stripes, so I figured that once I get my kitchen painted, it can go on top of one of the cupboards until I decide I might use it for a party or something.

So- those were some of my successes so far this weekend.  The failure was that we awoke to a drifted shut drive- thanks to this crappy white stuff that keeps falling from the sky!  By the time hubs got us dug out again, it was too late to make it to the Post Office to get my orders out.  I was so disappointed because I hate to make people wait, but what can I do?  If anyone has the number where I can reach Mother Nature, I’d love to give her a call!  In the meantime, orders won’t go out until Monday.

On another note, I did finish up some of my UFO’s and put them up on my selling blog, ~By My Hand~

Stop on over to see other pictures and descriptions by clicking the link above or the picture at the top left sidebar.  I do have one more pinkeep from last week to make for a customer, but then I will be starting some different patterns!  I’m so excited about starting those, but I have to finish up what’s promised, first.  I have to work a double shift tomorrow, and then my regular shift on Monday morning, so there won’t be much time here at home, but a lot of time for stitching on my down time at work :-)  He’s always interested in what I am working on (at least he pretends to be! lol) and when I told him one of the things I will be stitching next, he couldn’t believe me.  He happens to hate those things, but it is a widely loved thing in the primitive world! lol  Yep, that is just a tease…no giveaway :-)

I hope you all enjoy what’s left of your weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

What a great deal on the crock. I would not of passed it up either. Great stitcheries also. The goodwills here where I live never have specialty days like half off. I do believe that they used to but stopped a few years ago. Sometimes you will see seasonal stuff half off like now they have had ladies sweaters half off. Sure wish they would start again.

Have a great day!

Kathy
