…in my plans this morning, literally. I had made plans to run up to my favorite thrift store this morning after I got all the boys off to school, but as I was watching the news a bit ago, and they were reporting an accident on the interstate- right at the exit I needed to get off of. A truck overturned and there was a spill, and the hazmat team is there cleaning up. What are the chances of that happening on the one day I wanted to go that way? I really don’t know if it is on the north or south side of the interstate, but I don’t want to go all the way up there to find out. They just said it was better to avoid the area and go another route. I tried that once. I THOUGHT I knew were I was going. Got lost and ended up in a not-so-nice area of Ytown. Had the boys with me. It wasn’t fun. Lesson learned. I guess that is where one of those TomTom things would come in handy. I feel like I’m probably the only one who doesn’t have one :-) I’ve always told myself that I never go anywhere that I don’t already know the way, so why would I need one? Now I know why. lol
SO, I guess the new plan is to work around here this morning, run some local errands, and maybe hit the thrift after school. I was hoping to be able to go by myself for once, but the boys like going there too. I’ve decided on what I want to do with the top of the refrigerator, so I can work on that. I have furniture to prime and paint. My stairs and upper hallway need desperate attention. I have a few items I need to make for some customers. I need to get to the fabric store to get osnaburg to finish off my summer curtains for the kitchen. I have flower seeds waiting to be planted into trays. The list goes on and on. Why do I even think to pretend that I have nothing to do sometimes? lol All I did at work yesterday was make a list of all the things (and projects) that I need to get done. I am an excellent list maker. Now I just need to start getting things crossed off that list and all will be right in my world.
Isn’t it funny how you can look at something everyday, and not really notice it until you see it in a picture- how other people would see it? I was just looking for a picture or two to put on here for today and I came across this one. It’s (yet, another lol) shot of my sink that I took the other day and I just noticed something. See that post outside the window? It’s out in the flower garden off the patio. It’s in between the little blue glass bottle and the Williamsburg pottery bowl on the window sill.
How cool would it be to see a big prim birdhouse sitting on the top of that? I’ve always had plans to get one for on there, but have never found one that I liked the price (I’m cheap! lol). Now that I am such a ‘highly skilled’ woodworker (laughing at the extreme sarcasm in that phrase) I may have to put some of the lumber I bought the other day at HD to good use. It’s now on ‘The List’.
Before I go (Jillian is screaming at me from the DVD player…I’ve ignored her for a few days and she is not happy! lol) I will show you a few more shots- examples of my ‘professional photography skills’ – ha ha ha ha….
He did catch one :-)

Morning Christine...well I'm right there with you on not noticing things right off...and what a great idea for a birdhouse...we have several we can see from most of our rooms...I think i like looking at birdhouses as much as nature itself...and the birds actually nest in ours.
Great photos!...I like the reflection of the bike in the last one...when I red
"he did catch one" i was looking at the bike and had to laugh that he caught the bike...lol

I think a bird house would look wonderful on the post! Sound like that would be a very good use for your lumber. I like your photo's! The reflection is really neat! Hope you get lots done today. Probably a good thing you didn't try to head out with that wreck on the interstate. We live in such a small area we don't have to worry about that kind of stuff. We just have to watch for snow slides and bad roads that can cause closures.
Have a great day!

Hi Christine!....no you are not the only one without a GPS, I don't have one either but it is something I would love to have as well. I have done what you did and detoured through a most awful part of town which is quite scary indeed!
Have a great weekend enjoying whatever it is you decide to do!
Janet
