Not much to show today.  The boys only have 3 days of school left, and it seems like almost every day, I have to do running for some school function.  I’m sure I’m ours is not the only school to do this, but I ALWAYS hate the end of the school year.  They just try to cram everything into the last 3 weeks.  Today was Gannon’s Track and Field day, and instead of holding it at the school like usual, they held it at the local fairgrounds.  I had no idea why they would waste the gas to bus the kids down there, but then realized that they actually made a field trip out of it and the kids got to take a tour of the barns and see some animals.  I asked my friend to go along so we could scout out the area for yard sales after Gannon’s events were over.

He did good- but the hula hoop was not his thing ºÜº

We found one garage sale in the area (really only by accident) and decided to hit a few other areas to see if we could find any treasures.  It ended up being a lot of driving and I only found a few things.

This little brown crock was 25 ¢ and the mortar and pestle was

50 ¢.  I also found a brand new little digital video camera for $10.  It’s a pretty cheap one and doesn’t have a zoom or anything, but I thought it would be cool for the kids to mess with.  It takes still pictures too.  Besides those things and a few nice t-shirts for Brady, I didn’t find anything else.  Oh I almost forgot that I got this old green lantern.  I came right home and hung it up!  It was $1.

So not a huge yard sale day, but pretty successful.  And don’t get me wrong, there were other things.  Many, many other things that I could have bought.  I’m getting a little better about not snatching every single thing up that catches my eye.  I have so many things to make over so I’m not really scouting for more right now.

I took Timmy outside in his wire cage yesterday while I was sanding and base coating some things.  I got the sconces that I bought last weekend sanded and base coated and also the end table.  I have to decide what colors to paint them and hope to have a few done to show you soon.  I have the hardest time picking colors- especially if I’m not exactly sure where I’m going to use an item.  I did run out to the Depot today to get a few quarts of paint mixed.  If I’m going to paint some bigger items, I can’t be relying on craft sized bottles of paint!  I got my favorite color of blue and an old looking black.  Here are a few favorite shots from yesterday…

Sadie, lazing around…what’s new? ☺  She wouldn’t even lift her head to look at me.

Your young man will be Timmys best friend. Ducks will become very attached and follow the ones who plays with them or feeds them. My Lilly duck would get up on the lawn chair beside me when I layed in the sun. We have 15 eggs now we are waiting to see hatched. Mama duck is staying on he nest.
