This is what I look up to as I am doing my dishes- a typical farmhouse window. From the candle burning brightly, the tomatoes ripening on the sill, the moths and bugs looking for a way into my kitchen, and even the old wooden spoon propping it open. Nothing is fancy. Nothing is spotlessly clean after the day’s dust has settled.
What caught my eye was the little abode that some little spider had begun building from the candle bulb…
What a busy little guy indeed- this was not there the night before as I washed that night’s dishes. How fast those little spiders can complete a job. Does it ever make you wonder? Do you think they are ever really ‘done’ with their works of art? Or are they forever tweaking and changing things- much like we do with our homes?
Have a little makeover to show today.
Originally, not my style. Of course, you would think that by now, I would know that when I have a vision of making something over, I would immediately take a picture of it. I do have a pic of the shade which shows the coloring of the whole lamp pre-makeover…
It was fake looking rusty with black speckles and had moose, pine tree, and bear cutouts around it. Cabin themed. Again- Not my style. A little trusty black spray and it is now suitable to my taste.
Very cute now.
My worktable is full of things that need finished! I am proclaiming today to be ‘Sewing Day’ and hope to get these things stitched and stuffed and ready to sell!
I have staining to do to the white ones, first. I don’t think that I will ever buy white linen again. Ever. Although looking at the bottom left one, it does stain up rather nicely.
And as you can see, I’ve been dreaming of Fall. The cooler temps would be enough. I have had enough of this dang humidity. Do you know what humidity + naturally curly hair =’s??? Mess. That’s right. One big frizzy mess. Hate it. For all of you girls with poker straight hair who’ve dreamt of having naturally curly hair….be glad your dream is not my reality. lol Sure, in the 80’s, big curly sky-high hair was in. That era has long since passed. The grass is definitely NOT greener on THIS side of the fence. I live with the ‘just rolled out of bed’ look… all…day….long. Ugh.
Sorry for the poopy mood. That is just how I have been feeling lately. So much stuff clogged up in my head and I can’t seem to get anywhere. And the not-so-funny part about it is that I can’t really put my finger exactly on why I keep feeling this way. If anyone has any good thoughts to send my way, I’d really appreciate it! For now, I am going to get to my sewing and finishing. It will make me feel better to get something accomplished :)

Aw!!! Hope you feel better soon, I think those days just come and go and when they go we are a lot better off!!!! You have my hair!!! oH i AM SO SORRY FOR THAT!! yes born with it and every time I had a baby I prayed if I have a girl she would have straight hair...three boys first with my hair but they keep it bussed and then finally a baby girl with bone stick straight hair wishing she had curls...I told her to be happy with her hair you can add a curl or two...but there is no getting rid of curls I learned eventually after all of the straighteners and such...then several years ago I got over it for the most part...just wash and swing it a couple of times...maybe a cute little bow or a small braid and let it do its thing!!!! I still get those couldn't you have brushed your hair looks sometimes but most people think I just want it this way and it gives me a eccentric just don't care about hair look!!! Or that is what I tell myself!!! Go with it just let it be wild!!!! hugs
Hi. I hope you are feeling more like yourself soon. I understand about the hair. I have wavy, cotton candy hair that gets very frizzy. Today I went to have it colored, and my stylist blew it straight. People didn't even recognize me. I only have it this way once every five weeks. Otherwise, it is a mess. I often thought birds could put their nests in my hair. It's clean, but it's a bit crazy. So, I guess we just have to enjoy the wild hair and consider ourselves the ladies with hair. We'll be happy when we're ancient.
You are not alone. I have not been in high sprits myself. I am tired of the heat here. Today 101. My hair is straight and a mess. Soaked most of the time so it is pinned up. Straight or curly I think we all are having bad hair weeks in this heat. I will look forward to seeing those stitcheries stained and framed. Have a blessed weekend.
We were sick of the heat and humidity in the Summer and are now over the Fogs and Frosts in our Australian winter. Not sure that we are ever happy with the weather unless it's Spring or Autumn. I sympathise with the curly hair thing as I too have naturally curly hair. A couple of years ago I bit the bullet and had it all cut off. I now keep it about half an inch long. No frizz, no comb and always tidy!!

I think the heat has a lot to do with your feelings. It can mess with a person big time. It just zaps you and leaves you feeling like yuck. I hope your funk is short lived.
